Company History
CELEBRATING CULTURAL DIVERSITY is
a not-for-profit digital boutique TV
co-production company, located in UK (Birmingham) and
US (New York).
It will collaborate with WLWD 2000 Inc - an S-company headquartered in New York
City, USA, in April 2000.
It's objectives are to develop, produce, edit and distribute "cross cultural
diversified global TV content."
Since 15 September 2001, the company produced its first TV program "MISTAKEN
IDENTITY: Sikhs in America," adopting some of the most powerful new
media technology tools, i.e. SONY/PANASONIC digital cameras, AVID postproduction
editing equipment, etc., to produce the first one hour digital film as a 6-part
TV program series.
Mission
-To inform, educate and enrich the global community to understand their next
door neighbors of with multicultural backgrounds;
-To promote tolerance and understanding of world heritages involving multi-ethnic
life-styles focusing on cultural values of social, religious, economical, historical
and political backgrounds;
-To bring dramatic changes of understanding and fellowship among the culturally
diversified populations of US, UK and worldwide through simple, yet vivid docu-dramatic
visual language, using multimedia, television, films, the Internet streaming
video and new media technology still being created and developed.
The Team
At present, the production team consists of Ms Vinanti "Vina" Sarkar,
President, specialized in numerous multicultural diversified TV assignments
in USA, Canada, UK, Mexico, Norway, Portugal and India, starting at the National
Film Board of Canada.
Her first TV production in French and English: "Shakti: She is Vital
Energy" - focused on rural women of India, was translated into 55
languages.
The TV-series "The American Family - sociological drama which led to
a 4-part TV series "All that Glitters."
Completing her first 35mm film production on Prime Minister Mrs. Indira
Gandhi titled: "Facing the Challenge," she is presently working
on the unique TV series "WOMEN LEADERS WHO DARED" women as leadership
role models around the world.
The first film: "MISTAKEN IDENTITY" is 22-year
old Amanda Gesine's legacy to America and the world -as she conceived the
idea and worked as Host and Investigative Journalist for 9 months, until her
tragic accident on 14 June 2002.
Editor Philip J Marshall, (Irish American) winner of 4 Emmy Awards;
Cameraman Thaddeus Wadleigh (Norwegian American), Director of Photography,
Cameraman Marek Majowicz (Polish American) with Executive Producer Shining
Sung (Taiwanese American) and Multimedia Producer Merv Fong (Chinese
